In ancient times, humanity called upon the sacred Crimson Dragon for defense from the evil forces which sought to destroy it. To aid it in its fight, the dragon fashioned six servants using its vast power, which would become known as the original Signer Dragons. Each dragon represented an Attribute: Stardust Dragon of wind, Black Rose Dragon of flames, Red Daemon's Dragon of darkness, Life Stream Dragon of earth, Ancient Fairy Dragon of light, and a water dragon whose name was wiped from history. These dragons, along with six chosen humans, were to decide the fate of humanity. They fought valiantly for the forces of good and were worshipped as legendary creatures.
Another dragon, known as Black-Feather Dragon, was created later on during the fight against the Crimson Devil. Evil only grew more powerful with time. However, 5,000 years later, it took root within their ranks...
Every 5,000 years, the Signers and their dragons joined forces to defeat a great evil. While nearly all of the Signer Dragons felt honored to take on the task, one dragon harbored a growing resentment toward the cycle. The water dragon wished to be free of his destiny as humanity's weapon. He yearned to live freely in the ocean, away from humans and divine prophecy.
The Earthbound Immortals sensed the dragon's anger and frustration. They fed off of his negative emotions as he steadily withdrew from his brethren. Once he was sufficiently isolated, they reached out to him to make a deal.
The evil gods promised the water dragon that if he assisted them in defeating the Crimson Dragon, the cycle of wars between good and evil would be broken, thus granting him his freedom. He agreed to the terms and began plotting how he would turn upon his siblings and his very creator.
When the war between the Earthbound Immortals and the Signers began, the water dragon turned his fearsome rage on his brethren. With power granted to him by the evil gods, the dragon interfered in the battle. He started his bid for freedom by impaling his Signer on his horn before directing his ire toward Life Stream Dragon. After a brief chase, the dragon pinned Life Stream and inflicted a critical wound upon him. Ancient Fairy Dragon chased him off of her fallen brother only to be led into a trap set by Uru. The massive spider god seized her and dragged her down into the earth.
The water dragon's rampage had resulted in a loss of two dragons, making stopping him a top priority. With Red Daemon's Dragon holding the remaining Earthbound gods at bay, Stardust Dragon and Black Rose Dragon descended upon the traitor. Due to his increased power, even Black Rose's thorny vines struggled to bind him. Stardust's protective abilities prevented Black Rose from sustaining lethal injuries, but it became clear even they would be overwhelmed soon.
However, the water dragon's power wasn't infinite. The pair drove him into the ground where it would be easier to immobilize him. Held down by the two dragons, it appeared that they had finally bested him.
Badly wounded and bleeding out, the water dragon knew he had little time left. Summoning the remainder of his strength, he sent out a vicious electric pulse and pulled free of the vines. Even as they tore away one of his arms, he ascended into the sky and soared toward the Crimson Dragon. He increased his electricity's power until he could feel it cooking his flesh and superheating the air around him. The Crimson Dragon did not move to meet him. He plunged into the god's flaming body. The heat of a thousand suns incinerated his very being, leaving nothing but a mangled soul behind.
He failed. Despite the damage he'd inflicted, the Signers were still victorious that day.
For his horrible deeds, the Crimson Dragon erased all records of the water dragon from history. His name and body were both ripped from him and destroyed. Besides the gods and the dragons themselves, only an obscure, secretive Earthbound Immortal cult possessed knowledge of the events that transpired during the war. Keeping his memory alive throughout the ages, the cult believed the dragon would return in the next war to lead evil to victory...
